Bread & Ice cream: two essential food staples join forces

Did you know that we can make customised wafers and other ice cream-related items according to your wishes? We couldn’t pay a visit to somewhere as world famous as Hovis without doing just that, and we created this one-off edition of wafers to take along to their family fun day.

Hovis has always been at the forefront of British breadmaking. People of a certain age still become misty-eyed at the memories of the advert featuring a young delivery boy pushing a bike up a cobbled hill, as we’re told that Hovis is ‘as good for you today as it’s always been’. Fast forward to 2017, and Hovis’ soft white loaf has been voted Bakery Product of the Year.

A great day was had by all: as employees and their loved ones enjoyed a bouncy castle, and a close look at some vintage trucks and bikes. It was a nice, dry day and there was a real sense of relaxation and fun to proceedings, as people were able to show off where they work to their families. The presence of an ice cream van, especially a traditional, iconic one such as ours, will always add an extra splash of happiness to an event such as this, and there were smiling faces all round as we dispensed many a Mr Whippy and more.
