Clowning Around

One of the things we love most about our work is the chance to visit all kinds of districts and places, far and wide, but there’s always something very special about working at events that are taking place right in the heart of Manchester. And you can’t get more central than this, as on Friday we parked up right outside Selfridges on Exchange Square to serve ice cream to people who were coming along to Clownfest: a two day festival of clown and comic performance from some of today’s top entertainers.

This was a completely unique celebration of laughter, comedy and the ridiculous, and as people were going about their day, there were a lot of smiles and delighted faces among the shopping crowd, many of whom were not expecting to see a bunch of performers clowning around, on an otherwise-normal, slightly rainy Friday. And of course those smiles only got bigger when people caught sight of our iconic ice cream van, dispensing the ever-popular Mr Whippy and more delights.
This was a great day, and we’re hoping it will become a regular feature in Manchester’s calendar.
