That Friday Feeling With Havas Lynx

English summers are notoriously inconsistent, but one thing we can all agree on is that nobody likes to be stuck inside when the sun does eventually decide to peak out from behind the clouds. Warm weather is a rare treat, if you’re free to enjoy it. But if instead you find yourself staring longingly out of the office window, suddenly it all feels considerably less delightful.

One particularly glorious Friday afternoon, the head honchos at Manchester-based marketing firm Havas Lynx were watching everyone in their office pine for some fun in the sun. Determined to enjoy the lovely weather while it lasted, they rewarded their hardworking team with an early finish. As everybody prepared to make the most of their two-and-a-half day weekend, yet another nice surprise was revealed – Austin’s Ices were waiting outside, ready to serve up some chilled refreshment! Earlier in the day, Havas bosses hired one of our ice cream vans to supply employees with their favourite cool confection. The Havas name is world-renowned, so we were honoured that they thought of us, and of course we happily obliged. As the premier mobile ice cream vendor in the North West, teaming up with one of the region’s leading marketing agencies was something of a no brainer!
In the early afternoon, we parked up outside Havas HQ. A beautifully ornate building in the heart of Manchester’s historic Northern Quarter, it seemed like a great fit for some of the UK’s most creative minds. We had decorated the van with posters displaying the Havas Lynx name and logo – effective branding is a must in the marketing world, after all – and all that was left to do was wait for those in urgent need of a Mr Whippy fix to come to us.

Sure enough, come to us they did. In fact, we were such a hit with those sweet-toothed marketeers that we lost count of how many people we served in the end. And we must say, while Mr Whippy was an ever-popular choice, it was far from the only request of the day. The Havas family are an eclectic bunch, with varied tastes. Fortunately we, as always, had something for everyone. Creamy, fruity, tangy or saccharine, they all quickly found the perfect accompaniment to their upcoming afternoon of sunshine.
All in all, Havas Lynx were a joy to work with, and we were glad to help them close out their working week in style. We think we can speak for all involved in saying that we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for many more early finishes and ice cream Fridays!
