Austin’s Ices Helps Warburtons Celebrate Centenary

Austin’s Ices received a huge honour recently, when we were invited to take part in the Warburtons centenary festivities. Britain’s best-loved bakery wanted to celebrate their 100th birthday in style, and since we have the finest selection of ices in Greater Manchester, they brought us on board!

The event itself was a corporate family day, which took place in Warburtons’ home town of Bolton, at the local plant. Held on a sunny July Saturday, the celebrations were attended by a mix of staff, friends and family. In total, around 1000 guests enjoyed a day of fun, games and activities, including the opportunity to take the grand tour of the plant itself. Several vintage Warburtons vans were also on hand, providing a real sense of nostalgia.

Everyone at Austin’s Ices was incredibly excited to be involved with such a momentous occasion. We wanted to make the day as memorable as possible, which meant going a lot further than simply stocking up on Mr Whippy! Warburtons hired two of our ice-cream vans, so that nobody would have to wait too long for their favourite sweet treat. We also made sure that we had plenty of special ice-creams, in addition to all of the classics. Good thing too, because our sherbet-coated and marshmallow-topped creations were some of the most popular requests of the day!

This was our first time working with Warburtons, and it couldn’t have gone better. The event was a massive success, not to mention one big party from start to finish. We spent the day serving up tasty goodies and cool refreshment to hundreds of smiling faces. Towards the end of the afternoon, the chairman of the company – Mr. Jonathan Warburton himself – even paid us a visit. He opted for an old favourite, the 99 cone (he also picked up a Twister for Mrs. Warburton).

Many thanks to Warburtons for having us, we can’t wait to come back again soon!
